Product

Everything a store needs, plus the person who runs it.

CartKit is a full commerce platform — catalog, checkout, orders, fulfilment — with an operating layer on top that does the repetitive decisions for you.

Platform

The commerce half.

Unremarkable on purpose. It should do what you expect, and get out of the way.

Storefront

Themes that are just files

Server-rendered templates you can edit directly. No proprietary templating dialect, no app store required to change a heading.

Checkout

Hosted, PCI-scoped, yours

Stripe-backed checkout with your domain and branding. Card, wallet and local methods without a plugin marketplace.

Catalog

Cost travels with the product

Every variant carries its supplier cost, lead time and facility. That's what makes margin reporting possible downstream.

Inventory

Cover, not counts

Stock is measured in days of cover at current velocity, so reorder points move with demand instead of sitting at a fixed number.

Orders

One record, every cost

Fulfilment, fees, refunds and adjustments attach to the order. The order is the ledger.

Suppliers

Several, ranked

Connect more than one print or dropship partner and route by cost, lead time or region — automatically when one backs up.

The operating half

Rules in sentences, not flowcharts.

An agent in CartKit is a standing instruction plus the authority to act on it. You write what you want held true; it checks continuously and acts when the condition breaks. The log is the interface — you read what happened, not what might.

  • Pricing. Hold a margin floor. Reprice on supplier cost moves. Never below cost.
  • Inventory. Reorder at a cover threshold, inside a budget, from a preferred supplier.
  • Fulfilment. Route by region; switch facility when a backlog passes your limit.
  • Spend. Pause ad sets over a CAC target; ask before increasing a budget.

Standing instructions

plain language · versioned
01 Pricing
Hold contribution above $2.00 a unit. Reprice within 24h of a supplier cost change. Never cut below cost.
on
02 Inventory
Reorder at 14 days of cover. Prefer the supplier with the shorter lead time when cost is within 8%.
on
03 Fulfilment
Route EU orders to an EU facility. Switch supplier if the backlog passes 48 hours.
on
04 Spend
Pause any ad set whose CAC exceeds target for two days running. Ask before raising a budget.

Every action is logged, attributed and reversible.

Accountability

Nothing happens off the record.

The failure mode of automation is not a wrong decision — it's a decision nobody can explain a month later. Every action carries the rule that fired it, the figure that triggered it, the timestamp and a one-click reversal.

  • Attributed. Which instruction, which version, which input.
  • Reversible. Undo restores prior state, including prices and routing.
  • Exportable. The whole log leaves as CSV or over the API.

Margin engine

Contribution, per variant, continuously.

Revenue minus product cost, shipping, processing fees and refunds — snapshotted at the moment of sale so a later price-list change can't quietly rewrite last month. Costs that settle late restate their original order instead of landing in the current period.

  • Multi-currency. Converted at the rate on the day of the order, with the rate recorded.
  • Reconciled. Processor fees and refunds pulled back automatically and matched.
  • Queryable. By variant, collection, store, channel, supplier or period.

Scale

Four stores shouldn't mean four logins.

Stores share a catalog, a supplier set and a cost history, but keep their own domain, currency, pricing and rules. Margin rolls up across all of them, or drills into one.
